The Boys Season 2 is an upcoming series where all the superheroes are given celebrity status. Well, that’s an understatement, they are given god status and have extreme influence.
As expected with the extreme power they possess, they at times misusing their abilities.
So, the boys set out to keep them on track and expose the superhero groups Seven and Vought which both of them are managed by an extremely powerful superhero managing organization.
The Boys Season 2: Release Date
Amazon announced the renewal for season 2 before season 1 was even aired.
This will allow the show creator to better help explore the the comic-book source material. The same applies for the viewers, to help understand better.
Amazon always had a lot of faith in the series. Initially, the Boys season 2 will air on Amazon Prime Video on September 4.
If that release date will still stand is up for debate and unsure with the whole pandemic thing. Karl Urban even teased on social media a while back that season two would arrive mid-2020.
The Boys Season 2: Plot
It seems likely that the next season will pick up where it left off in the previous season.
With the first season of The Boys concluding with a huge cliffhanger.
All season long, Butcher looks for revenge against Homelander with the pretense that he had raped his wife which drives her to suicide.
As we learned in the final scene, Billy Butcher and his missing wife reunited who is later on revealed to have been raising Homelander’s baby.
We can also definitely expect to see Seven’s ongoing involvement with the military and the addition of Stormwatch only suggests that more supes will soon make themselves known.
Vought International is trying to secure a crucial defense contract with the US government and assert dominance on global politics.
If it succeeds, it could lead to many global disasters. We just have to wait for the third season to find out.
