The Crown Season 4 is a Netflix Historical Drama show which revolves around the life of the royals and more so revolves around the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. 

The series depicts her life in a chronological manner from the early childhood days to the present contemporary world.

In just four short years, The show has garnered millions of viewers and has turned into one of the most successful shows on Netflix.

It can also be known as a pricey retelling of Queen Elizabeth II’s life and from her marriage to Prince Philip through her reign.

The Crown Season 4: Release Date

The Crown’s first three seasons have all been a hit, and it seems that the fourth season has finished production and is wrapped.

Although with the current pandemic situation around the world, there’s still no exact release date set for season four. There has been some rumor of being airing sometimes around the end of the year.

Peter Morgan also announced in January 2020 that the Crown fifth season might be the last for the series. But at least we get another two more season, so that’s something to be excited about.

The Crown Season 4: Plot

The show is based on the true life of Queen Elizabeth-II. It revolves around the queen, her lide and her wedding with Philip Mountbatten, in 1947.

The cast for the queen was changed from Claire Foy who played as queen in season 1,2 by Olivia Colman who played as queen in season 3, 4.

Season three of The Crown picked up around 1964 in tackling Harold Wilson’s election as Prime Minister and in 1977 ending with Her Majesty’s Silver Jubilee.

It’s assumed that season four will unfold against the backdrop of the ’80s and early ’90s.

We might also see the coming in of Princess Diana to the family along with the Australia tour of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Season 4 will basically be based around the period span between 1977 to 1990.

If you watch the finale of the season 3, Margarets and Antony’s relationship fell apart with the both of them having external affairs outside of marriage.

Season 3 is more open-ended which makes season 4 wait more anxious as to what the storyline may head to. It will pick up right after the Queen’s 25th jubilee in 1977 and will likely end around the year 1990.

We will try to keep an eye out for the first official glimpse of Corrin as Princess Diana.

As mentioned before, Season four was wrapped up and will piggyback right after season three. So, we will see it anytime soon.
