The English Game season 2: Who doesn’t love football in today’s world? But only the most real of the real fans actually know about its provenance. But all those who don’t, don’t start feeling low- Netflix released a series back in May 2020 called The English Game, which is the latest show from the Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

What is the show about?

It is a spectacular recreation of the true story behind the origins of football, which led to the development of the modern versions of this professional game in the late 1800s. It also sheds a light on how it became the United Kingdom’s national sport.

It is one of those Netflix classics which have better quality storylines than the rest and with significantly less over-the-top drama. The best thing about this series, however, is its engaging nature and how it makes you cherish a show for a long time. All the cast brought forth the time and characters in a beautiful and realistic fashion with just the right touch of intensity and flare, especially Holcroft, who portrayed beautiful depth and charisma through his character- so much that he made a lasting impression upon the viewers.

Is Season 2 Going to Happen?

The creators of the show have not yet announced if and when the second installment of the series is going to come out. As it is a mini-series, there is a huge chance that it will never really happen. *sigh*

The English Game season 2 Expected Release Date

Even if the creators decide to make a second season, we are sure that it would come out no later than 2022, as the first season took ten months of production and was released in May 2020.

Cast

As the ambiguity of the release date of the second season is really high, we do not have the full list of the official cast. But, the actors who won our hearts in season one might reappear in the second part as well. These include:

Edward Holcroft, Niamh Walsh, Craig Parkinson, Charlotte Hope, James Harkness, Sam Keeley, and Gerard Kearns along with many others. Until then, stay tuned for updates.
