So, it’s a no brainer to set the path for Captain Marvel 2. The character was played by Brie Larson, who also featured in Avengers Endgame.
Initially Captain Marvel 2 official premiere date was set on July 8, 2022 with a hunt for director still continuing.
The announcement for the sequel came due to the COVID pandemic and is a part of a major shift in the release date calendar for a number of Disney movies.

There is also a confusion on whether Captain Marvel 2 will be a part of Phase 4 or the beginning of Phase 5, considering how MCU is secretive and likes to plot twist their projects.

In the first Captain Marvel’s movie, Carol Danvers used to be in the United States Air Force’s, and then she got superpowers. However, she has no memory of that. But In the end, she remembers everything about her past life and her powers.
She then teams up with Nick Fury, without much spoiler, that is how the storyline goes.
Well, there have been some rumors and reports that part 2 will be taking place in the present-day timeline of the current MCU. It could set in the year 2023, after the events of Endgame and its five-year time jump.
As of right now, it’s hard to figure put the exact plot for the next sequel.
However, the Russo brothers did confirm that she wasn’t in Endgame for majority of the movie because Endgame was more so a “story about the original six”.
Megan McDonnell, who is a staff writer on WandaVision, is also in talks to pen the sequel and also the show will feature a grown-up Monica Rambeau.

Even with no official announcement for the cast, it’s safe to assume that Of course, Brie Larson will be back as Carol Danvers and maybe even Lashana Lynch back as Maria Rambeau.
Fury may also show up played by Samuel L Jackson.
Apart from that, we are really not sure about the casting info for now.
